Marla Chapa, a proud Navy Veteran originally from southern Texas, landed at Whidbey Island in 2012. She hit the ground running once she was officially out of the Navy going to school to complete her Masters Degree, and studying to become a Real Estate Agent. All while taking care of her three young special needs children.
Marla originally hadn’t considered real estate as a career, but became inspired hearing her aunt's stories of helping people find a home. After purchasing her house in Mount Vernon WA she decided that was the route she wanted to take.
In her first year of business Marla was already in the same bracket as agents who had 3-9 more years of experience in the industry. Since then her business has grown exponentially leading her to head back to the books for her managing broker license. She now has Marla & Company where she is building a team of agents to help her growing business support every client.
Marla is also a Homes for Heroes affiliate giving back 25% of her commission to clients that qualify. These clients are Law Enforcement Professionals, Medical Personnel, First Responders, Educators, and Military Professionals. In the span of her career she has given back to 101 clients totaling over $255,500 directly from her commission at closing. In addition she gives the Homes for Heroes Foundation 5% of her commission on each of these transactions to help with grants for heroes in need.
